Maximum SSI for 2019

🌷 Maximum SSI is $771 in most states.

🌷 If you are on both SSI and SSDI, they allow $20 extra in unearned income. So, in most states the amount would be $791

🌷 If your spouse is also disabled, see below.

State Supplements

🌷 Some states add a small supplement in some situations. They are commonly $30-$80, though higher in California.

🌷 California and Nevada offer higher supplements for people who are blind.

🌷 Where to find publications about state supplements: https://www.ssa.gov/pubs/

🌷 If your spouse is not disabled, use the individual rates above.

🌷 If your spouse has income, this may lower your SSI. (only if you live together)

🌷 If you and your spouse are both disabled and both on SSI and you live together, maximum SSI is $1,157 in most states.

🌷 If you live separately or you are homeless, you may be eligible to each collect the individual rate instead.

SSI Only!

🌷 The figures above are for SSI only. They are not for SSDI, LTD or any other form of disability. For other forms of disability, see: How Much Will My Disability Check Be?

  3. Hello, we are from New Jersey, my son’s fair-share would be thousands of dollars per month for mortgage, taxes, food, utilities, etc. But our max is less than $700. Would it be okay to charge him $800? I’m confused on what to charge him for rent, utilities and food if what he will give us is considerably less than what he would split in 4.

  4. I moved to Colorado ,and have been on SSI for 30 yrs .When I got here I received my first overpayment letter .since I’ve already been paying on overpayment for over 5,yrs. My SSI was 659 in 2016. But they thought 10%wasnt enough and two weeks after receiving letter my only income SSI dropped down to 262.amonth .I did request a reconsideration appeal .with gross change in circumstances they kept taking over 500. My appeal was over turned in my favor but nothing changed said I was already receiving the max SSI of300-10%.would not listen to me ,would not look at overturned letter said person who did appeal has retired and if anything I had to show proof that I wasn’t working .but couldn’t tell me what I needed to bring in .and was asked to leave .. I’ve now done 7or 8appeals,reconsiderations,waivers asked to have formal conferences asked for info on why were it came from etc each time it’s been overturned in my favor only to be good for a month and then it starts all over again last year my only income was from SSI .my yearly statement said I grossed 4404..and in box 4.were it shows how much you have paid back is 0..so we’re is all my money going? 1. Definitely always ask congressmans office for help. Or senator…always always turn things in and keep a stamped dated copy. Always appeal everything that doesnt make sense.or ask in writing for clarification by certified mail.
Always apply for a waiver and or an appeal or even a hearing for overpayments that are not your fault.
