If You Already Filed Taxes or Signed Up
If you filed taxes in 2018 or 2019 and listed your children as dependents, you don’t need to do anything else. If you already signed up for a stimulus check, and listed your children on the form, do nothing. Checks are still processing.
If You Already Received Your Stimulus Payment
If you listed your kids on your stimulus sign up, but your stimulus check arrived without child payment, don’t panic. IRS says this has happened to many people and they are working to fix the problem. Stay tuned. We will let you know if there are any steps more you need to take. Follow us on Facebook.
If You Are Not on Disability
It’s not too late to claim your kids. If you filed taxes in 2018 or 2019 and listed your children as dependents, do nothing. If you didn’t file taxes, sign up now: Three Places to Sign Up For Stimulus Checks
If You Are On Social Security Disability
If you did not sign up or file taxes: It may be too late this year. You can file a tax return at the end of 2020 and get the child’s payment then.
If you did sign up or file taxes and you listed your children as dependents: Many readers report the child’s check was missing. We hope that the IRS is still working on this and plans to send out more checks. Stay tuned! We will let you know more when we know more.
