Sakara: Creative, Sick and Dreaming

If I got healthy: I’d go on an adventure. Somewhere a wheelchair couldn’t go. I would run and breathe everything in.

I would learn to play the guitar and go busking. I would sing and walk every day.

I know this would sound so ordinary and boring to most my age — I would work so hard. I’d finish all my A level coursework and it would be amazing

I could say so much more, but it only gets me hoping.

 

Sakara is sixteen years old. She has had ME since the age of five.

Sakara found out about BedFest the day before the deadline. She created this video in one day.

In addition to the earth-shattering song above, she is a brilliant photographer.

Sakara created the Visible Illness campaign, where she uses makeup to make invisible pain visible.
